Red indicates parameter is outside IESNA RP-8 criteria.
Blue > 1/2 min. illuminance can be raised to standard with a like fixture overlapping that coverage line
Highlighted Blue  Horiz Radius indicates where additional luminaires may be required to meet min. illuminance

Results:
Type:  Symmetrical

Horizontal illuminance at  69.0 feet will limit spacing to less than  138 ft. centers.
Vertical illuminance at  113.0 feet will limit spacing to less than  226 ft. centers.   Vertical illuminance will cause glare.

 Notes
  • The results can suggest maximum spacing of like luminaires required to meet prescribed illumination levels, from which a total count per area may be derived
  • Glare usually results when the luminaire has a significant output level at an angle greater than 70° from the vertical axis.
  • Illuminance is additive. Adjacent luminaire coverage may be overlapped to raise readings up to standard, e.g. if blue print begins at 15-ft, another like luminaire mounted on 30-ft centers with its same side overlapping that same line would double that reading
  • Type-I luminaires have lobes at 0° & 180° OR 90° & 270°. Type-V may have those 4 lobes or have none at all
  • The IESNA Security Lighting Committee recommends that for facial identification, the minumum vertical illuminance should be 0.5 fc
  • The IESNA recommends that vertical illuminance should be at least 1/2 the horizontal illuminance at the lowest unshadowed point between luminaires

This service provides a quick, simple assessment of lighting comparison to ascertain minimum
wattage and luminaire count. The intended purpose is improved data for calculation of ROI and payback.
